Local Emergency Planning Committee Minutes


 

DATE: May 14th, 2009

MEMBERS PRESENT: Don Nimmow, Bob Kissack, Megan Marshall, Tim Stieve, Kevin Fults, Kevin Stieve and Ed Geick.

MEMBERS ABSENT: Warren Frank (Excused), Jeff Jelinek (Excused), Denise Brusveen, Steve Muchow, Tom Dorner, Randy Johnson, Nicholas Fluguar, Kevin Gunderson, Jeff Seering, Sam Howard, Marty Krueger, Richard Meister, Jeff Skinner, Jeff Sprecher, Cindy Bodendein, Stan Sukup, Terry Wise and Melissa Delmore.

The meeting was called to order by T. Stieve at 1:00 p.m. with a quorum present. Meeting was properly posted.

Motion by D. Nimmow, second by E. Geick to adopt agenda. Carried.

Motion by D. Nimmow, second by T. Stieve to approve previous meeting minutes. Carried.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS

Public Education - Rural Safety Days took place 05/12/09 and 05/13/09. Tim Stieve would like to thank Don Nimmow, Sam Howard and Warren Frank for all of their assistance at Rural Safety Days.

HAZMAT/Inservice Training - Completed 4 sessions of the ICS/Hazmat update.

Exercise Development/Plan Review - Jeff is currently working on the plan reviews.

Clean Sweep - Tim Stieve reported that there is a strong interest county wide to do a clean sweep. Ed Geick noted it was the hot topic at the intergovermental meeting held recently.

HAZMAT Team - No report

COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS - None.

OLD BUSINESS - None.

NEW BUSINESS - Rural Safety Days. Don Nimmow informed the committee that he was asked if Rural Safety Days was open to the public. He stated that it was geared towards the third graders however the committee discussed possible publicity to include everyone at Rural Safety Days. Don Nimmow also asked if the hospital members of the Rural Safety Days committee would be able to apply for an OSHA grant for safety for possible funding.
