Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9 AM by Chair Ashford

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda

Motion made by Stehling, second by Huffaker to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Stehling, second by Huffaker to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 27, 2009. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Orris Smith said that he really enjoyed having the 2009 SCIL Class at the

Sauk County Historical Museum.

Communications

A letter from Marcia Wollschlager was read about the winner of the 1st Arts in the

Community nomination.

Budget 2010 Discussion

It was felt that the Sauk County Fair Board and the Historical Museum needed to have stronger reporting to the Oversight Committee.

SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)

A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of August. Motion carried.

UW Extension - Department Updates

Sue Nagelkerk, Sauk County Family Living Educator reported on upcoming programs that she will be teaching: Play Safe, Be Safe; Money Smart, Dells Area Alliance for Young Children, Rent Smart, Powerful Tools for Caregivers and workshops for child care providers.

Angela Zeihen, Sauk County Nutrition Educator reported on the Farmers Markets and how she is working the clients by handing out a cookbook that is prepared with recipes, safe food handling, serving size, etc

Introduction of Haley Weisert

Haley is the new year-around AmeriCorps VISA employee. She told about the programs that she is coordinating and working with that includes the Afterschool Program, YEPS Program, Conservation Days and how she is working with the Boys and Girls Club.

Sauk County Plat Books

Sue Nagelkerk reported that the Sauk County Treasurer's Office will now be handling the Sauk County Plat Book (it is no longer a fundraiser for the Sauk County 4-H Program). They now sell for $30.00.

ARTS & CULTURE

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers

A motion was made by Huffaker, second by Stehling to pay the vouchers for the month of August. Motion carried.

Discussion and possible action on Good Idea Grants

None

Next Meeting - Thursday, October 22, 2009- 9 AM - ETN Room - 3rd Floor - West Square Building

The meetings for November and December were also re-scheduled due to the fact that the 4th Thursday falls on the holidays. The November meeting will be held on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 at 9 AM in the ETN Room of the West Square Building. The December meeting will be re-scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2009 at 9 AM in the ETN Room of the West Square Building.
