Management Information Systems Committee Meeting Minutes

DATE: July 14, 2004

The MIS Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, July14, 2004.

Members present: Stoeckmann, Netzinger, Gaalswyk, Krueger and White. Guest: Prantner. Meeting called to order by Stoeckmann.

Motion to adopt agenda by Netzinger, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.
Motion to adopt minutes from the June meeting by Gaalswyk, seconded by Netzinger. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.

Communications - None.

Consideration of Joint Resolution to attend VisionAir Conference - Pate gave background on VisionAir system and details regarding the upcoming upgrade. He explained why it would be beneficial to have MIS staff attend the conference. Prantner presented his reasoning for sending 3 Sheriff's staff members along with Grant from MIS as many classes are being offered. Discussion followed. Motion to approve sending staff to North Carolina for conference by Krueger, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.

Review of 2005 Budget - Pate handed out Dept. requests. He went over the depts. that have the largest budgets. Prantner explained some of the budget requests for the Sheriff's Dept.. Gaalswyk asked for background on this system. Human Services will have a 1/3 increase from $136,000 in 2004 to $230,000 in 2005. MIS will be needing to upgrade the Domino Server (Notes). This upgrade was put off last year but will need to be addressed in 2005. Krueger discussed the need for Supervisors to have email accounts. Pate explained that this is something that can be provided. Stoeckmann suggested that this be an agenda item for next month when committee can discuss options and prices available. Stoeckmann also talked about having Minutes put on website. Discussion followed.

• MUNIS upgrade
• VisionAir upgrade
• Indirect Cost reporting - Helpstar and Timesheet reporting
• Budget Development
• EWISACWIS upgrade - addressed some issues, more issues to be resolved
• Postini spam filtering system still being installed
• Melyx Medicare billing system going well
• SOARING Phase II implementation - user accounts not set up yet - meeting w/Bailey to discuss options - will allow grantor/grantee info. for free
• Help calls - volume is up - EWISACWIS calls

Motion to approve vouchers by White, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee. Motion carried.
Motion to accept Directors Report by White, seconded by Netzinger. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.
