5. Discussion of next steps. Gene Wiegand indicated that it is time to start putting down the things that we have learned as a committee and start to consider our recommendations to the full board. Original charge to the committee was to have a recommendation back to the board by the February meeting. Need to look back over all of the testimony and start trying to put that into a formal recommendation to the board. Joan Fordham asked the progress on looking for a speaker from a county that has closed their nursing home. Gene has not located anyone except for the Eau Claire County representative. We will continue to look. Hasn't been a recent closure where the county has gone out of the business. Will attempt again to get a speaker from Juneau County. Tommy Lee thanked all the people today who came to speak. Indicated that he had heard from the community asking that the next hearing be during the evening so that working people could attend. Was decided to hold the hearing at 6:00 p.m. in Baraboo on the 22nd. Phil Craker indicated that when Gene brought back the survey results to the County Towns Meeting the members voted unanimously to support keeping the HCC here. Don Lichte in his presentation also indicated that the Reedsburg Fire Department members voiced unanimous support for keeping the HCC going.

Chairman Carlson thanked everyone for coming.
