Mission Statement

The South Central Environmental Health Consortium (SCEHC) is committed to maintain and uphold the public health of Sauk, Adams, and Juneau County. The Division does this by informing, educating, regulating and intervening in such matters as Water, Food, Lodging, Recreation, Waste, and Human Health Hazards. The department is dedicated to provide these indicated services with professionalism, timeliness, and evidence based practice.

Human Health Hazard Services:

Mold and Indoor Air Quality - Information, education, and sampling available through the SCEHC

Radon -
Information, education, and sampling available through the SCEHC

Lead/Lead Poisoning -
Information, education, and sampling available through the SCEHC

Rabies - Information, education, and sampling available through the SCEHC

Mercury -
Information, education, and spill clean-up available through the SCEHC

Fish Consumption Advisory –
Information and education available through the SCEHC

Waste and Nuisances – Information, inspection, intervention, and enforcement through Sauk, Adams, and Juneau County code and law.
 

Consumer Protection Services

Retail Food Licensing, Inspection, and Regulation Contracted through the Department Of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP)

Restaurant/Food Inspection and Regulation - Contracted through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WI DHS)

Lodging and Recreational Inspection and Regulation - Contracted through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WI DHS)

Tattoo/Body Piercing Licensing, Inspection, and Regulation - Enforced by Sauk, Adams, and Juneau County ordinance and state statute.

School Inspection and Regulation - Contracted through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WI DHS)

Transient Well Water Sampling Contracted through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WI DNR) Water Program.
