The Sauk County Public Health Department is engaged in planning with multiple agencies and surrounding counties to protect residents in the event of bioterroism, infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters and other public health emergencies. Public Health Preparedness staff work collaboratively to develop emergency plans, communication plans and conduct ongoing training to respond to public health threats in our community. During an emergency, public health will provide services to the community congruent with our day-to-day services, including water testing, assurance that food service is safe, administering vaccinations and disease surveillance as appropriate.
