Solid Waste Department

The Sauk County Landfill permanently closed on April 5, 2005, having reached its final capacity. All waste disposal services at the Sauk County Landfill have been discontinued.

Any dumping of waste materials at the Sauk County Landfill property or along Sauk County highways is strictly prohibited and subject to severe financial penalties.

Waste generators should now haul their waste materials to one of the privately operated transfer stations serving this area. The following companies operate transfer stations which are open for public use:
