Thank you for your interest in the Sauk County Sheriff's
Office. The Sauk County Sheriff's Office was founded in 1844, 4 years
prior to Wisconsin becoming a State. The Sheriff's Office is located in
Baraboo, Wisconsin in the heart of the beautiful Baraboo Bluffs. Tourism
is a main attraction in Sauk County along with the natural beauty of the
entire County. Sauk County has a lot to offer you, from the Wisconsin
Dells and Lake Delton area with their water and amusement parks, challenging
golf courses, Ho-Chunk Casino, to Baraboo's Circus World Museum and Devil's
Lake State Park, to the arts in Spring Green.
Currently, the Sauk County Sheriff's Office has 153 full time employees.
There are 24 Administrative positions which include a Chief
Deputy, an Administrative Assistant, a Captain of the Security
Division with 6 Security Sergeants, a Captain of the Field Services
with three Patrol Division Lieutenants, three Patrol Sergeants,
one Detective Sergeant, and one Communication Division Sergeant.

the Sheriff's Office and who work tirelessly to maintain and enhance the
professional reputation enjoyed by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office. We
are fortunate to be able to attract and hire some of the finest people

The tasks and functions within the organization are many and varied, including
Patrol, Investigations, Jail, Prisoner Conveyances & Extradition,
Warrant & Civil Process Service, Court Bailiff & Security, Clerical
Support Services, Lake & Snowmobile Patrol. Personnel also have opportunities
to serve on specialty teams, such as the Emergency Response Team, Critical
Incident Negotiations Team, Drug Enforcement, K-9 Unit, SCUBA Dive and
Rescue Team, and Honor Guard.
