This Irish community was located in Bear Creek
Township. The general store and post office, left, served the needs of
area farmers. The old St. Patrick's Catholic Church, center, catered to
their spiritual needs. Once the largest village in Bear Creek Township,
a tavern, school and cheese factory were established there. The Loreto
Cornet Band played at picnics and dances during the early 1900's. The
postoffice closed in 1900, and the village, except for St. Patrick's Church,
was only a memory.
